JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager - Group Market position is directly responsible for the development of the group market, including prospecting and booking of groups to successfully achieve the established revenue goals for all components of The LineUp at Wai Kai. This position reports to the Director of Group Sales and is responsible to keep leadership and owners engaged and informed of strategies, initiatives, and revenue projections.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Director of Group Sales in the development and execution of sales plans to achieve the overall company revenue goals with a focus on Hawaii and the U.S. mainland's social and leisure group segments.
• Provide excellent and genuine customer service to clients and guests, and lead Wai Kai's multiple departments in delivering a worldclass group experience that fosters brand loyalty, return business and referrals.
• Fully understand Wai Kai's extensive range of products and services, maintain awareness of the changing needs of the market segment, and create relevant solutions and easy-to-book packages for this market, including birthday, beach party and cabana packages.
• Showcase Wai Kai to clients and guests during site inspections, FAMs and media visits.
• Analyze market trends and Wai Kai' post-opening financial history to assist the Director of Group Sales with sales forecasts and budgeting.
• Work with the Director of Group Sales to create and update necessary sales tools.
• Utilize and manage the POS system, sales calendars and tracking tools to ensure that the data is kept clean and updated.
• Represent Wai Kai at tradeshows and client events to cultivate new business opportunities that expand contacts, event bookings and revenue.
• Work closely with the other business entities within Wai Kai to general overall sales for Wai Kai, while maximizing revenue and profit for The LineUp at Wai Kai.
• Ensure that events are planned and executed to meet Wai Kai's sustainability standards, and provide clients with guidance and tools to meet the standards without compromising their event goals.
• Execute and support all established Brand Standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Self-motivated, with an ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and organization.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Project management skills, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Understanding of event sales, booking and operation process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• General proficiency with computers MS operating systems and software suite
• Skills in surfing, stand-up paddling, kayaking, canoeing and other water sports activities is preferred, but not required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in hospitality sales, convention services management, event management or banquet management
• A minimum of three years of proven experience in Hawaii's travel industry
